March 14th 2016 – NNOWW Fitness’ 1st official weight-loss Challenge

March 2016 10 Week Weight Loss Challenge

Purpose:

To provide a framework of fun and friendly competition that will:

  1. Support healthy lifestyle changes and overall increased personal wellness
  2. Encourage physical activity
  3. Promote healthier eating

NNOWW Fitness Weight Loss Challenge Guidelines

  • Participation in the challenge requires:
    • $25 Entrance Fee
    • Initial weigh-in the week of 3/14/16
    • Availability to be present for weigh-ins WEEKLY
    • Availability for final weigh in the week of 5/23/16.
    • Signing of waiver
  • All weigh-ins must be conducted AND recorded at NNOWW Fitness by a NNOWW Fitness employee or representative.
  • Weight loss should be the result of healthier eating and exercise habits.
  • Participants are on the honor system and should participate in a healthy and fair manner.

Prohibited:

  • Diet pills (herbal or prescription appetite suppressants, metabolism enhancers, etc.)
  • Water pills (diuretics) unless prescribed for a medical condition such as high blood pressure
  • Laxatives and colonics

Criteria for Winning:

  • Percentage of total weight lost
      1. beginning weight – ending weight = pounds lost
      2. (pounds lost ÷ beginning weight) X 100 = percent weight lost
      • This is a fairer comparison than total pounds lost since heavier persons can safely lose weight more rapidly.
        • A healthy rate of loss is 1% of beginning weight per week. So, a person weighing 280 pounds can lose 2-3 pounds per week while a person weighing 180 pounds would be expected to lose no more than 1- 2 pounds per week.
  • Weigh-Ins:
    • All participants MUST be present for weigh-ins weekly on Monday or Tuesday of EACH week at NNOWW Fitness before close of business on Tuesday (8pm)
      • You are allowed ONE emergency skipped weigh in only
    • If you are NOT available for the final weigh in, your last recorded weight will be used.
  • A NNOWW Fitness designee, will calculate weight % changes and determine “winners”.

Prizes & Payouts

  • Weekly Weigh in winners: 1 free class
  • Week 5 Weigh in winner: 2 free classes
  • Competition Completion Winners:
    • 1st Place: 70% of Pot – TBD
    • 2nd place: 30% of Pot – TBD
    • 3rd Place: 1 week Unlimited Classes ($50)
    • Everyone: Tons of fun & better health!
